THE PERFECT FATHER

I'm a daddy's girl. My dad taught me to enjoy life at an early age. He always had time to play one more game and tell one more story. I treasure the memories of nightly games and storytelling. My dad gave me everything I needed as a child to enjoy life as an adult.

Experiencing the blessing of a father who loved me and enjoyed being with me, taught me much about God's love. No matter what others thought, my dad thought I was the best! Throughout my early life, college years, and "getting married and raising kids" years, he always cared about my feelings and the details of my life. During the early years of ministry, he kept my traveling schedule in his Bible so he could pray over the events and "keep watch" over his little girl.

Of the treasured memories I have of him, the one tugging at my heart is the recollection of him waiting for me during the last days we shared on earth. Approaching his assisted living center I'd see him perched on his wheelchair, holding his arms out for a big hug. With a huge smile on his face, he always welcomed, always loved, and always wanted to spend time with me.

Everybody needs a daddy like that!

Maybe you share the blessing of an earthly dad like mine. But if this scenario seems totally foreign to you, I have some great news.

There is a PERFECT FATHER waiting for you. He's your Father God, and He's welcoming you, loving you, and wanting to spend time with you. Every dream you've ever had of a strong and encouraging dad who loves you unconditionally is within your reach.

His love for you is not based on your success, worthiness, or goodness. He loves you because you are the product of His mind and His heart. There is nothing you could do to make Him love you more, or love you less. And should you choose to reject Him, His heart is shattered.

Becoming His son or daughter is easy, because He already did the hard work. By faith you accept His atoning work on the cross and enter into relationship with Him as His child. Now, that's love!

"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" 1 John 3:1 NIV

His daughter, Cindi
